Optimizers squeezed additional ounces of efficiency out of biological material. Control freaks aimed for safe and standardized conditions in every realm. And then there were those with the magic touch who provided the motley crew of stakeholders with a sense of direction. If you believe in magic, it is just a small step to put your faith in sorcerers.
