Another year, another crisis.

Welcome to the world of monoculture! And lucky you if you were only facing one single crisis. Most monocultures faced multiple overlapping crises, and few of them found a permanent solution. The more common scenario was about rumbling on in the face of all sorts of challenges, knowing that each individual crisis might turn into the terminal one. In other words, it is time to abandon the common Western understanding that crises are spatially, chronologically and thematically limited. Most monocultures worked in perennial crisis mode, and that had consequences for minds, tools, and environments.
